Live at The Van Buren Phoenix, Arizona August 6th 2025

The Van Buren was already buzzing before d4vd took the stage. The sold out Phoenix crowd, dressed for the occasion, packed shoulder to shoulder. Many wore their white button ups splattered with (hopefully) fake blood, if you know ... you know. Outside, the heat was a brutal 115 degrees, but inside, the room was ready to move.

Bryant Barnes opened the night with a set that was polished but full of heart. His voice carried over the crowd chatter, earning real attention, not the half-listening that openers often get. He is one to watch, the kind of artist who feels like he is only a few shows away from his big break.

When the lights shifted and D4vd appeared, the first thing that hit you was not a note, it was the stage. The setup felt like a white floral altar, dense with arrangements that climbed around the stage. Under the lights, it looked almost ceremonial, as if the entire show was about to unfold as one long vow.

From the opening run of “What Are You Waiting For,” “Sky,” and “Friend Again,” his control of the room was absolute. He still carries the raw, self-made energy from his earliest recordings, but now it is amplified by the scale of his rise from closet-recorded tracks to festival bills and sold-out tours.

“Sleep Well” and “Here With Me” slowed the pace, letting the crowd’s voices bleed into his own. “This Is How It Feels” and “Crashing” brought it roaring back, every beat shaking through the floor. Between songs, he kept the talking light, letting the music do most of the heavy lifting. The back half of the set with “Always Love,” “Feel It,” and the inevitable “Romantic Homicide” felt like a release. Fans raised their phones, their voices, and for a few

minutes, the heat outside did not matter.

Credit to The Van Buren staff for keeping the room safe in that kind of weather. Free water, constant circulation, and steady hands made it possible for the crowd to push through the night without losing their energy .By the end, some fans might have fallen in love, others just sang the songs that got them through their 2022 heartbreaks. D4vd didn’t just play Phoenix. He staged something that felt part concert, part ritual, and entirely unforgettable.
